Uchizi has over 20 years of experience in finance, programme and project management, operations, grants and compliance, and value for money (VFM) reporting across private sector market systems development programmes (MSD) and international development. His experience spans multiple sectors, including mining, agriculture, health, justice, peacebuilding, humanitarian response, and private sector development (inclusive growth and market systems development). His specific skills include downstream partner due diligence, risk management, and providing technical support for business plan development and capacity-building components for agricultural MSMEs involved in MSD programmes. He has considerable experience overseeing grants and compliance, as well as financial and operational functions

for large portfolio projects. Uchizi possesses a wealth of experience in delivering both short- and long-term technical assistance to FCDO, SDC, and World Bank-funded multi-country private sector development and inclusive growth programmes implemented in Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, and South Asia. His significant international footprint encompasses delivering technical assistance to development programmes across Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, and South Asia, including Malawi, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, and Nepal. He leads by overseeing the multi-country coordination of grants management and advisory functions, ensuring compliance, team coordination, and effective leadership. Uchizi manages the multi-country risk strategy design and management and provides technical assistance for enhancing investment readiness capacity for MSMEs. He has played a key role in FCDO’s value for money strategy design and reporting for market systems development programmes, following FCDO's five Es framework, among others. Uchizi effectively manages complexity, is action-oriented, optimises work processes, ensures accountability, drives results, and collaborates successfully effectively.
